So, two people on Team Lilliebridge squatted over 1000 (raw w/ wraps) this weekend. That is just…unreal.

JP Carol with 1016 and Eric Lilliebridge with 1001 for two singles.

This is my buddy, Cody.Cody got me into powerlifting a little over a year ago. He pulled 512.5 at 181 in a Push/Pull meet today and it made for a badass picture!

There’s an impressive amount of elite level powerlifters on tumblr, but an overwhelming amount of elite level shit talkers.

Hahah I love this. Brandon is the man.

1,824 lb total at 274.

Squat: 639

Bench: 485

Deadlift: 700

Wilks: 472

I finally got around to making a video from the meet last night. I didn’t hit the numbers that I wanted to hit, but I still hit two PRs and added 44 lbs to my previous meet total even after dropping a weight class. I also set 3 USPA Junior 20-23 American Records in the 275 lb class.

God damn this is awesome. “Elite” total, Im assuming?

It does qualify as elite according to USPA standards. And it should rank me in the top 15 when powerlifting watch updates the 275 class rankings.

Fuck you, I deadlift 700 lbs. I don’t need advice on how to deadlift. I hate this form shit everyone goes on about. I deadlift with high hips and a rounded back. Get over it.

Das some good weight mane

Lol when someone that prob can’t pull 3pl8 talks shit.

How about “do your thing I’ll do mine”, anon?
Preachy anons are as bad as haters, aren’t they?

Preachy anons may actually be worse that haters.

These are the same people who would lecture Ed Coan or Benni (or my favorite recently are the people harping on KK because he has a rounded upper back but that invalidates his multiple 900lb beltless deadlifts apparently).

Man, you and your brother are some of the strongest dudes on this site and in the country. Keep it up.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the kind words. And I agree 100% there are countless top lifters that are criticized daily for form and training style. It’s sad that the sport of powerlifting is like that. That’s one of the reasons it will likely never be a mainstream sport.

Brandon Lilly put it perfectly the other day:

I like putting powerlifting scenarios into other contexts:

Ex 1: I imagine a math forum of Middle School Algebra students talking shit, and making Meme’s about Einstein, Newton, Archimedes, etc. and flaming them on Social Media.

Ex 2: I imagine a painter, painting the most amazing, perfectly balanced picture of all time, and someone on the internet writes it off as “it’s all genetics” or “he was on shrooms.”

I think you get the idea.”

I read that in Facebook. I love it. Brandon is always getting hate for each and every video he posts. It’s the perfect analogy for what’s going on right now in the world of powerlifting.

All depends where the bend in the back is, Upper back isn’t that big of a deal, lower back is a different story. As for why the sport isn’t mainstream, yeah it’s got fuck all to do with “oh his form was bad” and more to do with it not being as marketable as other sports. Seriously, watching a dude grunt and pick something up is even more boring than golf.

Thanks for your valuable input and vast array of knowledge on all things powerlifting.
